Hi girls, I'm hoping you can help guide me on this journey! I've been trying for 6 months and have long cycles with short lp. I am young and got preg with my dd right away with no intervention 3 years ago. I met with my ob last month he suggested clomid which I wasn't too comfortable with considering he did limited testing and there wasn't going to be much monitoring. I met with a RE today just for some initial testing to make sure all my hormones are in line etc. they took blood from to run a bunch of tests and did an internal. Dr said he saw more then the usual follicles but nothing too abnormal. DH will be getting a semen analysis as well.
Because we're young and conceived so easily we want to initially be conservative about our approach. We agreed to have a natural monitored cycle this month with a trigger shot and then move forward based on our findings. We want to minimize the chance of multiples. Future steps would be femara + trigger, of course pending the findings of all the bloodwork.
Is this a good approach? Just looking for some advise/support as this is a first for us!
Thanks so much

If you're trying to be conservative then that's pretty much the least you could be doing. Good luck

Hey hun! I agree that what your plan is is the most conservative you can go! I believe femara produces less follicles but better quality and clomid produces more follicles but thins your lining so I think femara would be a good choice if you want to minimize your chances of mulitples. Plus the side effects are soo much better with femara! Good luck!

Re: New here
Thanks girls I've done a lot of research but it was still overwhelming hearing about all of the different medications/options!

I think it is so, so smart to proceed cautiously esp because you are young and have time. I was in a similar boat but received bad guidance. I now have triplets and it's a joy, but it was a harrowing, frightening road. Good luck!

Re: New here
Welcome. I hope your stay on here is a short one!
Just to show you a different perspective, I am 27 and have been seeing an RE for 3 years now. I too had the "I am young- I have plenty of time" mentality. But after all this time and disappointment, I wish I would have been a bit more aggressive in the beginning.
Best of luck this cycle

Re: New here
I think it sounds like a good and cautious approach. I know a lot of people who got pregnant just before they really started fertility treatments. So hope you are one of them.
