New here, new to TTC!
Hi everyone! I've been lurking on the TTC board for awhile, but this is my very first post! We got married last May. I went off BC (NuvaRing) after I completed December. We had decided to not try, not prevent but I started using OPKs just so I could see what my body was up to and try to figure out my cycle a little better. I had been on BC forever up until December, with the exception of a few months here and there in the past. I'm 30, my hubby is 34.
I bought a 50-pack of the cheapie internet OPKs but I didn't really like them. Not clear enough for me. I *think* I ovulated last month on CD21. My cycle was 34 days long. I bought a 20-pack of Clearblue smiley OPKs this morning. I worked last night (overnight, I'm a nurse) and tested this morning when I got home. Negative. I slept until 1 today and tested when I got up and got a smiley. Today is CD13. My hubby is OOT for work this weekend of course. We are going away next weekend and I thought based on last months cycle that would be when I would ovulate. We BD'd on Monday night (2/4), he wasn't feeling well on Wednesday so we didn't then (even though I've been like a crazy hornball since going off BC). He comes back on Monday night (2/11). I guess we're out this month, right?
Honestly, though I would love to get pregnant this month, I do have an appt with my ob/gyn on Tuesday and was going to talk to him then about TTC (I'm already taking a PNV but any labs, etc). Sorry my intro post was so long!! I look forward to chatting with everyone and hope that we all have a short stay here!

Re: New here, new to TTC!
we have very similar stories. i got married in mid 2012 and went off nuvaring end of 2012. not TTC yet, but wanted to go off and see how my body was after so many years on BC. i saw my obgyn recently and all she said about TTC was take pnv and just be healthy with your eating and exercise. she didn't want to run any labs.
good luck!

New here, new to TTC!
I saw my ob yesterday for a pap, he has me and hubby coming in for a "preconception" visit in 2 weeks. They're going to talk to us a bit and draw some labs (I know to check if I'm a carrier for things like CF and SMA, and probably some other stuff). He also said that they usually tell healthy couples that it could take up to a year to conceive, but that since I have to come back in 6 months for a repeat pap, if I'm not pregnant by then we will loo further into it. I was happy to hear that. Hopefully next month will be our month! I'm pretty sure that we missed our window of opportunity this month.

Welcome and GL to you!!! Don't count yourself out just yet. Even if you any time during your fertile window there's still a shot.

Welcome and good luck!
I know everyone says to stop testing after your first positive opk, but I got my first smiley on CD 13, which I couldn't believe since my cycles are pretty long (around 35 days). So I kept testing and got more positives later on. So you may not definitely have O'd. I would keep BD'ing to cover your bases.

You know Kizzy, I think you're right! I got a smiley on CD13, which I thought was too early for me (I also didn't have EWCM or "feel" like I was O'ing). I got another smiley yesterday, and have EWCM! It's gonna be a very happy V-day in our house tonight ;)
