New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
Any information on this district would be great...the good, the bad and the ugly

Re: New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
I don't know much, but I teach in the neighboring district and many of the people i work with have their kids in the New Hyde Park schools and I haven't heard anything bad.
Sorry i couldn't be anymore specific, but honestly, i think it's fine.

I believe people voted down the budget at least twice in the last few years.
I am not sure where you can get that info, but I would look into it.

Re: New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
I am a product of the NHP-GCP schools and honestly have nothing bad to say about them Mind you, I graduated a while ago so I don't have any recent information on them! My parents still live in NHP and as far as I know, they are still good schools.
Sorry if this isn't much help, but please FM me if you have any specific questions on NHP!

Re: New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
Are the schools diverse? They have a lot of elementary schools....any difference in them?

Re: New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
I don't think there is really much difference betwen the elementary schools and they all feed into the same high school.
In terms of racial/ethnic diversity, the schools are fairly diverse (and I beleive more diverse from when I went there). New Hyde Park has a large Indian/Asian population.

Re: New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Schools
NHP/GCP schools are good. The area is diverse a the pp mentioned. There is a large Indian population and lots of Indian stores and restaurants in the area. I happen to love Indian food so it's a good place for me to get a bite to eat.
