Re: New Job Question
No, that does not sound normal. Especially since they won't tell you why. Would you be comfortable saying no?

Re: New Job Question
That is crazy. I don't know what I would do. Can't that be considered sexual harassment?

Re: New Job Question
I would not feel comfortable wearing my bathing suit to the office and if you do not either, then you should say so.
No one should force you to wear something like that to the office!

I have to clarify... we come to work in regular work clothes, and have to bring the bathing suit, and sneakers which can get wet to the office. We will be taken somewhere secret! Its like a company outing/ bonding thing I guess
They are probably taking you to Splish Splash or something.

Def not splish splash...that I know. I work in Advertising, and I *think* it might have something to do with promoting a product either beach or pool related...thats all I can think of. I just dont understand why I wasnt told about these types of events prior to starting with the company. I feel very uncomfortable with this whole thing.
I would find out if this is something typical of what they normally do.
I understand you feeling weird though. I would go but bring a tank type bathing suit with shorts over it. This way your not really in anythign too revealing.
But on another note I think you look great and dont have anything to worry about

Re: New Job Question
I would feel uncomfortable too. You barely know these people and they are asking you to be half naked around them? I don't know about the advertising industry but this doesn't sound normal. Have you made friends with anyone who's been there a while that could give you an idea what this is all about?
I wouldn't do it!

I wouldn't do it either if I was brand new there.

Re: New Job Question
Hell no! I can't imagine they can MAKE you participate in an event where you have to wear a swimsuit around your coworkers...especially if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
