New mom support groups
Does anyone know of any groups, playgroups, luncheon type things offered in Nassau county where new mothers can get together and talk about parenting? I'm going stir crazy at home and would love to talk to other moms.

I'm not in Nassau, but check with your library. I know my library has a New Mothers Support group that is run by a licensed therapist. I haven't been able to go yet but I'd like to check it out. I'm sure your library would have something similar or at least programs where you could go meet other moms with infants.

are you nursing? I found that there were lots of nursing support groups. We rarely spoke about breast feeding , more about parenting

There's a terrific breastfeeding group (I only pumped and my supply was so poor, it was pitful) at NS hospital Plainview and I met the NICEST mommies there..

 Exactly what I did. It was once a week for 2 hours. When the group ended a few of us continued meeting up every week at our houses.
