New puppy questions
Napoleon is 4 months old. We have to get his rabies shot and we have to get him fixed. Does anyone know how much it runs to get him fixed? Then there is obeidince school- my husband and I were thinking of taking him there. Do you think 4 months old is a good time to go or wait another month or so? Lastly- does anyone have any recommendations of a place to go for obedience school?
Thanks!!

Re: New puppy questions
what kinda dog is it? i believe neutering is around $250 bucks. you can go to your vet to get it done. as far as obedience school, you can either go to one of like the pet store classes (petsmart, petco, etc) or you can spend good money and get him really professionally trained (like mutt manners, etc)

Re: New puppy questions
the neuturing depends on the size of your dogs. my dogs are under 10 lbs. so they were around $125 each. I go to an animal hopital, not a vet. Private vets charge way too much and our vets at the animal hospital are great!
I took my dog to obedience around 4 months, so yes it's a good time to go. Most places have a puppy obedience school. This place in Bayshore isn't too pricey and the puppy class was good.

However, we eneded needing more serious training for our dogs.

Re: New puppy questions
For neuturing you can go on the website friendsofanimals.org & you only pay $90 for getting your puppy fixed. I just signed up for it & my puppy will be getting spayed in 2 months. It's great you just have to make sure your vet accepts the certificate. On the website there is a list of vets that accept it. I go to the animal hospital in Valley Stream. They are excellent.

Re: New puppy questions
all vaccines are soo much cheaper at petco them have them every sat morning and there about 1/2 the price and no cost for exam like at ur vets.. the only thing is you need to keep track of them b/c they wont be in your pets file.
