New Sofa with Pic - Yay or Nay?
We need a larger sofa for our family room and are planning on mounting the tv over the fireplace (FINALLY!)!
Anyway, I found this sectional sofa for an amazing price, and I think it would be durable with kids because it is leather (wipe clean, etc).
My only concern is that the cushions are ALL attached (even the ones you sit on on the bottom) so you can't rotate them at all. I have a feeling that may be common w/ leather sofas for some reason, but I'm not sure. This couch will be our main sofa for sitting and watching tv and entertaining, so it needs to hold up.
It does have the option to purchase an additional warranty, which I would... but I am not sure if it covers the cushions "flattening".
Does anyone have a couch with cushions that are attached and have you found it to be a problem?
Thanks in advance! Here is a blurry camera phone pic.
(I would not purchase the center ottoman).

Mine are attached and I HATE it. Just for that reason. I have learned my lesson and will never do it again. We are moving in a month and I cant wait to replace them.

very nice sofa. I have a black leather sofa & loveseat. The sofa is a sleeper, so the bottom cushions are removable, so that is good. But the loveseat isn't made that way. I have noticed the bottom cushions are getting flattening some over the years, but they are recliners too, so they are pretty firm. I'm sure over time, the bottom cushions will become flatter. Gl with your decision.

Friends of ours have a similair leather couch with the cushions attached and are not happy with it. It seems one of their kids spilled something in between the cushions and it is almost impossible to clean since they are attached. They hired a cleaning service but unfortunatly even after that the couch still has an odd smell from whatever spilled. Had the cushions been removable they could easily clean and spray something on the fabric under the cushions.

Worst decision ever was buying a couch with cushions that are attached. We have had our couch for 4 years now when I sit in my "usual" spot, I sink in to the back of the couch. I literally feel like I need help getting up. If the cushions were not attached I could at least re-stuff the cushion with no problem. Now I am sitting in a different spot that makes it harder to see the tv

I guess it's a case of you want what you don't have. We bought a sectional. Both seat and back cushions do not attach, and I am CONSTANTLY fluffing, and moving them back into place. I didn't like the look of a sectional or microfiber sectional b/c of the attached cushions, but these cushions are making me nuts!!
I think leather can take a lot of wear and tear, so I say go for it.
