New (somewhat) and questions
Hello all, I used to chat on LI Weddings - my sn was Maribelle or Maribelle7 (I can't even remember!). I stopped because of drama and work was getting 'in the way' of posting (LOL) and we were busy looking for a house. We moved up to the lower Hudson Valley area (Putnam Co) last summer and we just welcomed the newest addition to our family - Liam Michael was born 8/30/6! He's so precious - very very good for the most part - and he's so darn cute I can't stand it! We are truly blessed.
I do from time to time check this site. I really don't think I'll be a regular poster because I just dont have the time anymore but I did have a question for you all.
My in-law's are here (they are from IReland) and my MIL (who is DH's step mom) brought her grandson over. He's actually from London and he is 15. Being up here there's stuff to do like shopping (he loves anything Nike and it's cheaper here) and there's movies and billiards and bowling. He's seen some of the city and we'll probably go in again next week for a bit. I don't know if he's into museums like the Museum of Natural History. He *is* into soccer and WWE. I checked WWE's website and there's nothing going on in the area I don't think. I know there's some WWE fans on here - do you know of anything going on in the area from now until 10/27?
What else do you think he's like to do? He doesn't want to go to Great Adventure. He was stuck in a roller coaster once and doens't like to go on them now.
He's seen Statue of Liberty and Times Sq and Empire State Building...anything else in NYC that a 15 yo would like? Oh we are going to see Tarzan on B'way next week so we got that covered.
TIA

Re: New (somewhat) and questions
What and where is that? Sounds familiar?
Oh I just thought of the Bronx Zoo....but he's a "mature" 15 yo so I don't know if he would be interested. Maybe he would anyway.

Re: New (somewhat) and questions
St. John's has soccer game at home this weekend. They have one of the best collegiate soccer teams in the country - maybe he'd be interested in that?

Bodies Exhibit
My nephew is 13 too. When we were in the city, we hit Chelsea Piers skate park so he could watch some of the skateboarders (he didn't bring his board). We didn't go to the Bodies Exhibit since I had my 3 & 5 year old.
Shoppingwise, I know one thing they don't have over in the UK as of last year was "wheelies" sneakers. They were a big hit with DH's cousin's nephew. He was also impressed with all of the Hummers, limos, etc.

Hi again, took me a few to relize I have to hit the quote button first. My friend just moved out of Brewster. She loved it there but for a few reasons they moved to Katonah last month. They had built a house 3 yrs ago on Ice Pond Rd. It was a shame they sold it but better for them in the long run. I think technically she was really in Southeast.

Re: New (somewhat) and questions
Lots of haunted house stuff this time of year. In Tuxedo they are having the Haunted Forest where the Mideval Festival is held.
What about the Intrepid Museum in NYC? The Planetarium? One of those theme restuarants like Jeckyle and Hyde or Hard Rock Cafe...
