New thread idea...

So as u know the dh is in the process of joining the coast guard... he was told about a week 1/2 ago that he has to lose 6lbs by the 23rd.. so of course i've been healthy cooking and such..

i have to say - i am SO happy & feel SO good about eating healthy again! i had always eaten healthy - but for some reason since christmas i could just not get out of the habit of eating crap!!! i've just been in such a comfy routine of my bagel/coffee in the morning..and just carbs carbs carbs! i work in a mall, so it's been dunkin doughnuts(right downstairs Chat Icon ) pretzles, etc... just UGH! and u know once u get into that habit - its just so hard to get out of! ANYWAYS, so for the last two weeks I have been on a health kick w/dh & OMG! i just feel SO good!! it's one of those "WHY haven't i been doing this all this time?!" moments.. i just feel lighter, healthier, more energized, etc... plus i can look forward to some of the cellulite on my a** diminishing lol Chat Icon Got back to exercising too!

okay so all this to say - i have a new idea for a thread!! I'm going to call it "Healthy Eats" and each day we can post our healthy food choices Chat Icon not only is it great encouragement for us all to eat healthy, but it'll be a great tool to get new ideas for breakfast lunch & dinner..sides & snacks too! Chat Icon

Today:

Breakfast - Cup of greentea, two eggwhites w/1 slice of whole wheat toast, and a 60calorie light&fit yogurt.

Lunch - Salad topped w/tuna

Dinner - chicken marinated w/mccormick grillmates seasoning on the George Forman, Steamed broccoli w/lemon/whitewine & garlic and a baked potato.


Snacks in between: Nectarine, 60calorie light & fit yogurt, granola to munch if need be.

GOOD IDEA!

I eat low carb alot and find it helps to maintain my weight. I am also trying to cut dairy out lately (well I am not eating cheese every day, maybe a few times a week)

But anyway I need breakfast ideas that arent dairy, arent wheat and easy to grab on the go...?

Breakfast - I have been having a piece of fruit and nuts in the morning

Lunch - today probably soup because my throat hurts

Dinner - steak and asparagus on the grill

Snack - applesauce

Breakfast: WW cheese stick and Yoplait Light Strawberry Shortcake yogurt

Lunch: 1.5 cups of tortellini with sauce

Dinner: Grilled mahi mahi with mango & peach salsa and a small baked potato with light onion dip.

Snacks: (eaten during the day while at work) 100-calorie pack cheezits and asian pear crisps.

Breakfast: a banana

Snack: Polly-o part skim sting cheese

Lunch: a cup of honey nut cheerios, and two clementines

Dinner: Not sure, maybe whole wheat penne.

I've been eating instant oatmeal by Quaker Oats called Simple Harvest. The Vanilla, honey and almonds one is really good. I just picked up the Maple brown sugar and pecans one.

I started today off sooo badly!

breakfast- coffee & a peice of bunny cake Chat Icon

snack- sugar free apple sauce

back on track for lunch- salad & 1 point chicken soup

snack- pretzels

dinner- my neice is over and sarah gave me the idea to make pizzas, so we'll either have them on light english muffins or pitas to make it healthier

dessert- ww ice cream cone

i'm following WW i lost 7lbs and went down 1 size so far! i have a looonng way to go!

breakfast: hard boiled egg on arnold thing 1 slice a ff cheese a cup of coffee with 4TBS of skim milk

Lunch: salad - lettuce onion tomato fresh turkey and goat cheese with ff balsamic 1 tsp of olive oil and 2 TBS ff croutons

Dinner Fajitas, grilled chicken spices w cajun and adobo FF sour cream, salsa and FF shredded cheese

grilled eggplant on the side w 1 tsp olive oil

Snacks: Pear, skinny cow ice cream

Breakfast - Health Bar

Lunch - Peanut Butter & fruit

Dinner - Grilled Chicken with veggies

Sure it's a container I pick up at CostcoChat Icon It's next to all the hummus and dips. It's soooo good! I love putting it on top of fish and makes a great dressing on salads!

I am bad....I need to do 6 small meals or something

breakfast: 1 1/2 cups tea with 2 % milk (not a lot at all) and about 3 sugars total
with 1 1/2 bowls of cheerios with 2 % milk

lunch: surgar free pudding pack (60 cals) and 5 jelly beans

snack when I go to school: 90 cal Special K bar (strawberry- love those)

Dinner: maybe tacos

LOVE THE IDEA!!

Morning (8am)- I had a small banana with Nature's promis organic peanut butter.

10am - Hard boiled egg.

Lunch - 1pm - tomato basil whole grain wrap with grilled chicken & steamed veggies.

Snack - grapes

Dinner - Multi grain Rotini diced tomatoes & onion. Ill prob throw soem steamed broccoli there too.
