most people usually start with pad thai, is a very safe dish.
lots of thai dishes use peanuts.

Pad Thai is a good starter
Definitely. Bean sprouts, peanut sauce usually over noodle and chicken.

Re: New to Ordering Thai Food please help!
I love Pad Se Ew. ( or something like that)
It is wide rice noodles with basil & they sually have it with a choice of veggies or chicekn, etc.
It's very mild, similar to Chow Fun in Chinese food.

Re: New to Ordering Thai Food please help!
I agree that Pad Thai is a good place to start. Thats what I started with. Its a combination of flat noodles, sprouts, scallions, peanuts, lime, bean curd, and whatever you want either chicken, veggies, or shrimp, and I think steak.

So, you didn't get it tonight?
Most Thai places have descriptions under the Thai name for the food.
Pad thai can be very peanuty--I'm not crazy about it--its kind of dry & very sprouty.
A lot of people start with it because they are afraid of other items being too spicey.

Re: New to Ordering Thai Food please help!
Pad Thai is great. It depends if you like spicy foods. This is not spicy. I am not a big spicy person. I also like Mussaman Curry (not spicy) (peanut type curry..kind of savory and sweet..depends how its made). Also there is this Chicken peanut dish called Chicken Praram that is good.

Re: New to Ordering Thai Food please help!
Did you like the Thai food last nite?
It's one of my favourites. I love green and red curry, garlic and pepper, peanut satay (as long as they dont make it with peanut butter- yuck!) pad prik khing, chili and basil and that saute with cashews. Yum!
