New to running...question about rain
what precautions (if any) do you take when running in the rain? Do you wear any special gear?

I don't run outside if its raining (unless its a race or something) because I am scared of slipping.
If its a light drizzle I run, just in whatever I would normally wear.

I wear my crappier sneakers, a hat with a brim, a light rainjacket depending on the weather and wicking socks and clothes.
If it's not a cold day, running in the rain can be sooooo invigorating!

I agree with this except I don't wear a hat w/ brim, I usually wear something with a hood. Just my thing. I remember one of my first runs ever was in the rain. It felt great.

I'll wear a rain jacket and hat if it's cold. Otherwise just my regular gear, but I make sure I don't wear a cotton tank since they sag and get heavy when wet.
Outside of clothing, just be a little more aware on the roads. Obviously, when driving, vision is obstructed in the rain, so just be careful, try to wear something with color rather than black.
A nice run in the rain can be very cleansing mentally!

I have a wind-breaker vest with hood that i wear when its raining. It doesnt weigh me down and also repells some of the water. The best part is that the ziipper goes all the way up to the top of the hood so i can cover as much of my face as i need to.

a hat and if it's below 60 a light rain jacket.
I love running in the rain...unless it's freezing rain - that's the worse running weather condition IMO.
