New to the Club....

Hi everyone, my name is Kat and I just got married and I want to make a scrapbook. I have no idea what I am doing, or even where to begin. What tools do I need? Are there any websites that can help me? Does anyone have pics?
TIA

Welcome!! Chat Icon

I would suggest you get yourself a good paper trimmer, a pair of scissors, some type of adhesive ( I love the TOMBOW type...its a double sided tape that is acid free), paper (both solid and some patterned), embelishments (can be stickers or ribbon)

I like to work with 12x12 books but you can get albums from 4x4-12x12. I like the bigger pages because I can get more pictures on the page.

Check out the following places for inspiration!

Lifetime Moments (they have a store, message board and gallery)

Two Peas

Creating Keepsakes

Good Luck!
Please let me know if you have any questions.

There are tons of magazines out there with lots of ideas. I love the store Scrappers Playground. They're in Babylon. A lot of the stores offer beginniers classes.

I got started wtih Creative Memories. I don't know of any reps in the area but you might be able to do a search. They have a great starter kit.

Re: New to the Club....

Simple Scrapbooks is a good magazine to work with also, the layouts are not overwhelming.

There's also a book you can get at Michaels - Cherish - it's light blue cover - it has "recipes" for layouts for all different number of pictures with all of the measurements to cut. REmember to use a coupon and get 40% off.

It's very easy to get overwhelmed! You may want to check your local school district for their Adult Ed classes -they may have scrapbooking classes which tend to be cheaper than going to the stores.
