New to the potty- any suggestions?
DD is 23 months and has her own little potty. She has peed on it a bunch of times in the past month but nothing consistent. She loves reading her Karen Katz potty book. We look at her Dora "Big Girl" pants (pull-ups) and talk about them.
Any suggestions on the best way to start? I'm done with work for the summer on Monday and would like to begin the process. What worked best for you?
Do you put them on the potty several times a day? DD can communicate to me that she has gone poopie and needs to change her diaper, but doesn't tell me before she goes.
Thanks so much!

Re: New to the potty- any suggestions?
I think you're doing all the right things. I need to be more consistent with Ava, because I know that she'd rather play than use the potty, so I really need to be putting her on every half hour or so. For the most part, however, when we're home, I keep her in a dress with no diaper, pull-up or undies on, and she has no accidents at all, she uses the potty all on her own when she needs to. Like I said, she doesn't always want to stop what she's doing to use the potty, so I either try to put her on every half hour or so, or I keep her underwearless. HTH
