Hi! I've been a lurker and decided to "come out!" DH and I decided to start ttc in February...came off the pill and am trying to learn my cycle...just had a question...how is it possible to get your period but not ovulate?

Welcome Trish, I hope your stay here is short and very sweet !!!
A cycle can be annovulatory and there could still be bleeding. Sometimes the lining gets so thick, that it reaches a point where it starts to shed, it's called estrogen breakthrough bleeding. This also happens sometimes when there isn't enough progesterone during an ovulatory cycle.
Sometimes the estrogen level just decreases so much that you can bleed from that as well.
