New Walkers & Shoes
Caden just started taking some steps. Now I know that it could take awhile before he walks all over or he could be running around by next week...Im not sure if I should get him shoes or not. It's still warm outside that he can go barefoot in the grass and I wouldnt be letting him down any where else at this point either...
WHen did you get your child shoes? What shoes did you get? For the life of me I cant remember when I got them for my older kids...
TIA

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
I don't know what to do either. Dylan has Robeez and I recommend them but once they walk outside I am not sure those are enough. I am thinking of going into Stride Rite to see what they have and maybe ask what they recommend. I may stop in there without Dylan, so I can see what they have and I won't feel pressured. Then I can go back when I want him measured. Let me know if you want to stop in w/ me one day. You probably know there's one in the Mayfair. Dylan also has those Converse that I just had to get him. They are getting small and I may get the next size up, too!

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
When Lily started walking, she did most of her walking inside, or out on the lawn at our house, so I kept her barefoot. Once she started walking more than she was crawling (about a month after she started taking steps), then I got her some shoes. I was going to do Stride Rite...but I couldn't see paying that much money for shoes she's going to outgrow so soon - so I got her measured at Stride Rite, and then bought her some sneakers at Target.

This is exactly what we did.
He's barefoot most of the time for now and we've started adding shoes about an hour per day for him to kind of get used to them. Although DH went out and bought him Sketchers.

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
Im taking dd today to get her first pair of shoes for walking. Shes just learned and is getting better each day, I figure shes going to want to walk outside so I would get her shoes to wear then. Inside ill still have her walk barefoot to help her getter stronger.
Were going to stride rite, hoping they will steer us in right direction on what shoe to get.

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
We went to Stride Rite as Victoria is walking assisted. The salesman told us to wait until she is walking on her own and stable before spending the $$$ on the shoes

Heather, we have these and they're great. Charlie doesn't mind them on him at all and he does take steps in them. For the summer we wore them without socks.
eta: I got them at the outlet for $26

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
I got Payless shoes and Stride Rite. The Stride Rite were horrilbly expensive and scuffed really bad and were totally disgusting after 2 weeks. Now she wears PediPed because she walks better in those since are like barefoot.

Re: New Walkers & Shoes
I got Abigail stride rite shoes, I ended up going to the outlet in Riverhead and got 2 pairs for the price of what other stores wanted for just 1 pair.
Payless was also having a great sale, I spent 15 bucks and got her 3 pairs of shoes, I couldn't resist.
I plan on using the stride rite once she starts walking more and is a little more stable on her feet but for now we're using the payless.
