new years weekend trip?

It looks like I will be off Thurs-Mon of New Year's weekend and was thinking it might be a good time to do a small weekend trip.

The only problem is, it's cold! Boston etc seem like a bad idea because I'd rather go when it's warmer and we can enjoy it.

Considering a B&B, AC or maybe a place like Mohegan Sun? I'd love to go somewhere warm but those involve flying (not cheap at this time of year and we are flying the weekend before to visit ILs for xmas)

Any recommendations of a weekend trip?

For laughs, I toyed around with the idea of London (fly out wed night/arrive thurs morning, thurs, fri, sat sun in London, fly out sun night and arrive back in NY sun night - the time difference really works in our favor) but I'd rather save a trip like that for when we have more time and the flights were pretty pricey.

DH and I are planning to go skiing that weekend. I am sure you can find a place that is nice and close
