Re: New York!!!!!
For under $250....You are not going to find many hotels....and if you do, they may be a little scary. You may want to try a B&B in the city. There are many of them. Check out trip advisor and read all the reviews. Scott

Re: New York!!!!!
We stayed at a best western years ago that was like 89 a night. That was 8 years ago though, you might want to try them.

Re: New York!!!!!
Try the Doubletree Metropolitan. I reserved rooms for my wedding there at a reduced rate of $179, so $250 may be a reasonable rate (although it was a different time of year). Otherwise, I would do priceline! I have always had luck with priceline!

Re: New York!!!!!
If you're going to do the NBC tour, you might as well go to the Top of the Rock. Great views, better than the one from Empire State Building, imo, b/c then you can actually see the ESB!
You should be able to find a hotel for under $250. Definitely check out the discount travel sites and the like. Also, I think NY Times or NY Magazine just recently had an article about affordable hotels in NYC.

Re: New York!!!!!
We did top of th rock and it was amazing...We also had cocktails and appetizers in the rainbow room. That was expensive but we did have a direct view of the empire state building all lit up at night and also saw Dan rather. Scott
