New York Legislature approves new congressional maps
New York’s legislature approved new congressional district maps Wednesday that will expand Democrats’ power for years to come in a state where the party already holds a dominating advantage.
The Senate voted 43-20 on party lines Wednesday to pass the congressional maps. The bill largely passed on party lines in the Assembly with a 103-45 vote.
The redrawn maps would ensure that
Democrats make up a strong majority of registered voters in 22 of the 26 congressional districts the state will have in 2023.

So done with New York! I just feel the majority of the government, judges and courts are way more powerful they they were ever suppose to be. And the Media is a one-sided joke!

Ok so I’m not reading into this wrong. I wanted other sets of eyes to see this. How can something like this be done so easily??? Did anyone see the before and after map??? It’s clearly redrawn to benefit them.

It’s like. .. “Your president is bad but wait your president was worse so let’s ignore the bad that is happening now.” There is a severe lack of focus on the core issues with people nowadays and serious deflection. LOL.

Seriously we are stuck in the middle, picking sides while Mommy and Daddy fight during their divorce. lol.
I watched Mo Amer’s recent stand up and he had a really funny bit about the government and media during Covid.

Yes, I happen to agree with this. It’s wrong either way. The system is broken in general. They should go to a parliamentary system.
I’m more interested in who will replace Breyer.

Some comments are the instant whining because....... Democrats.
But you cannot be outraged over what's taking place in NY and not be equally outraged over the fact that this has been happening ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, mainly on the Republican side, for years. I get it will directly impact NY'ers but when there is gerrymandering ANYWHERE across this country we're all affected.
I agree, it's wrong on all sides.

It's about the fact that it's hypocritical to be up in arms because now the gerrymandering is in YOUR backyard but nevermind the fact that this has been a constant problem across this nation, in many states for years.
If *you* (collective you) wants to be upset over this than you need to equally upset that this is a nationwide issue that affects our voting system and our nation as a whole. You can't just get twisted over Democrats as if this is some "new practice".
I'm tired of people not acknowledging the corruption that exists on BOTH sides of the aisle.

Agree. I am up in arms over the corruption on both sides and the fact that this country is so torn apart that we are far from the UNITED states anymore

I am right there with you. It's unfortunate how fractured this country has become. I hope we can find our way back to what once made us great, we're an abysmal version of the country and people we once were.
