Newbie here with tons of questions- Prenatals, anxiety, all that good stuff
Hi all, I lurked for a few days and saw so many LIW girls I used to know and love I JUST found out I was pregnant yesterday. I wont even know how far along I am until next week I will eventually shed my skin rekindle our LIW romances
So first- CONGRATS to all future mommies! This is SO exciting & I feel very blessed to experience this part of life. I honestly did NOT expect this to happen as quickly as it did.. We weren't exactly TTC, but definitely knew we were dancing on a fine line Low & behold- feeling a little sick this week + BIG t*tties = clear blue digital testing time. Once I got 2 BFP, I went to the Dr & confirmed through blood tests. Just got the call a few hours ago!
Now here's the reason I'm creeping & HAD to make a fake name: I definitely have NO IDEA where to start, as my general dr basically said- EXCITING! Be calm! Enjoy! and I haven't seen my OB yet. I'm having some issues with my prenatals that I've been on for less than 2 months now. And I'm also a nervous wreck! Always have dealt with anxiety and trying to figure out HOW to remain calm for my <-- this is still SO surreal to me!!!!!!!
So I have been taking PruetDHA. First started taking it in early February. First few weeks were awful! The nausea was terrible, but finally went away. I definitely had skipped a few times here & there... [Didn't think twice that I actually WAS PG so i wasnt too concerned!] Now, the past few nights I felt sooo sick after taking them, just like when I first started. That is what led me to my pg test. I skipped last night and did feel a bit better than the night prior. Tonight I took the vitamins immediately after dinner & washed it down with an orange- that was about an hour ago- so far, so good. Did anyone else have these issues with their prenatals? Any suggestions for a different brand?
Now my other favorite topic is anxiety. I had such a severe case about 10 years ago that I went on Zoloft & turned human again.. I felt better and stopped the med after about a year. I went through major life changes after this, and somehow did not have anxiety. But now- since around Summer 2009- have been getting these attacks here & there. Now that I am in for an INTERESTING 10 months- I am fearing more attacks- which eventually will lead me to an attack! It's a vicious cycle Does anyone else have anxiety issues? I have heard that your hormones actually calm you down the further along into your pregnancy... but I want PROOF! All advice & stories are welcome, FM also welcome if you don't want to share it with the world.
Thank you for listening girls! Cant WAIT to come out of my little hole & REALLY introduce myself!

Congrats and welcome! Take a deep breath and enjoy...this is an exciting time! And it goes fast!!!
Can't help with the anxiety but I recommend Women's One A Day Multi Prenatal vitamins...been taking them long before BFP and all throughout my pregnancy. My OB said they were good enough to take so he never prescribed an Rx one. Never felt sick on them or anything. I believe a lot of girls on here like the Target brand prenatals.
Good luck and welcome!

Good luck and welcome! thank! I also heard about these Target prenatals while lurking... Once I talk to my OB I will see whats best for me & the baby. Tonight it seemed to take well with dinner, so I'm just hoping thats why I was having issues- taking it on an empty stomach an hour prior to dinner [which is recommended]

i will tell you what helps me with nausea: take a b-complex at bedtime, specifically Vit B6. And the other thing I take at bedtime is unisom (the one that has the active ingredient Doxylamine). Doxylamine along with the B6 actually helps to quell nausea. If you take it with your prenatal close to bedtime, you should sleep through any nausea that comes along :O)

Congrasts and welcome
IN terms of pre-natals I take the Target brand with an extra Folic Acid supplement. I haven't had much issues with them at all.
Now as for anxiety...I would check with your doc what's good to take while your preggo. YOu may also want to look into therapy while your pregnant...sometimes good old talk therapy can help through some of the worst anxiety.

I definitely would consider that if the anxiety gets out of control.. so far I seem to manage it pretty well, but i want to know if theres options should i need them!

I would say you are probably more prepared for the issue of anxiety/depression because you went through it and know what you have to do to help yourself get better. i know that one of my friends felt much better than she thought she would during pregnancy despite her previous panic attack issues.

Welcome fellow LIW bride!! Can't wait until you come out of hiding!!! Congrats & Welcome. I have no advice for the anxiety issue, but I take Rainbow Light prenatals and they are great for the tummy. They are vegan and very gentle, you can get them at Target.

no usually I take it at night before I go to bed, and I take unisom (make sure the active ingredient is doxylamine) and my prenantals a little while before that.
