Newbie needs help

Hi! I'm brand new to these boards, and I feel bad asking for help right off the bat, but here goes.

Hubby and I have decided that we will start ttc right after our belated honeymoon in Feb.

To prepare, last week I stopped bc (the ring) and have been taking pre-natal vitamins for a month and change.

I got my dear friend this past sunday. Normally, while on bc it lasts 3 days or so. Typically I would have started a new pack of bc on Tuesday, but I didn't. I still have my friend - 6 days later - and it's heavy as ****. !?! Is this because I no longer have hormones running through me, like I did with bc?

I also have PCOS, btw. Any insight would be super helpful.

I don't have pcos but know when I stopped taking bc my periods were very painful and heavy. They have calmed down but it was horrible at first. My dr had said it was my body weaning off the hormones.

When I stopped my period went away and then came back a week later. For the first 4 months off the pill I was getting super heavy, long periods. My cycles never got regular in length, but my periods are now exactly 5 days every time.

Your hormones are out of whack. Don't worry about it yet. Just start tracking your cycles, when you have your period, temping if your going to, etc. and then look at them in a few months once your body starts regulating itself. If your still concerned then, take your charts to your OB-GYN.
