Newbie vent with some newbie questions...
Hi I’m new here. Have been lurking for some time doing research but have to just ask a really stupid question. I know my dr. said I could see him after 6 mos of TTC to talk about my options. I know some dr’s say wait until a full year of TTC. My problem is I don’t know if I can consider it 6 mos yet. I went off BCP in Dec. Planned to start TTC in March. I had three 42 day cycles. Was ready to start trying after that and wouldn’t you know AF never came. I went 100+ days waiting for AF realizing that my body could still be adjusting to life off BCP (I had VERY irregular cycles before going on BCP 15 yrs ago). Dr. put me on 10 days of provera – AF came exactly 2 weeks after my last pill. I am now at cd 33 and have been using the ovulation monitor which stopped asking for tests after 20 sticks of low fertility. Have been using digital clear blue easy sticks since and still nothing. I just don’t know what to do from here. I obviously want to see my dr. I just don’t know if I am being impatient or not. Don’t even know if I can count any of this time as TTC since I don’t believe I have ovulated since I started officially trying. Does no AF and no ovulating count as TTC? We’ve been BDing as often as possible just in case. DH thinks it doesn’t count as TTC and I can’t say we’ve been trying 6 mos with no AF and no ovulating. Just at a loss of what to do next. Made a dr’s appt today but it’s not for a few weeks. Last time I was there he said we could talk clomid at my next visit if I was still not ovulating. Just not sure if I should wait it out more and see if my body really is just still adjusting to coming off BCP. I had blood work done back in June and my hormone levels were all fine. Thoughts or comments? Thanks in advance girls this board has been so helpful so far!

Re: Newbie vent with some newbie questions...
I haven't been on birth control for a long time (over 1 year) before starting to TTC.... so I can't tell you much about that.
The 1 year or 6 months is really in terms of number of cycles. My cycles were very irregular (and very long...on the order of almost 40 days). I got better at monitoring cycles with time (and the inexpensive no-digital OPKs). Thus, i waited longer to see an RE. I don't really think that no ovulation & BD counts as TTC. Sorry.
But I think if you have so much trouble with your cycle & if you are ovulating: it would be a good idea to see a Gyn... and follow up with them. Ask if they recommend seeing an RE.

Re: Newbie vent with some newbie questions...
thank you I couldn't put into words what I meant...you said it for me. I meant does TTC count with not many cycles...so thanks for answering that question. DH will be glad when I tell him he is right and I was wrong. I just wasn't sure if I could call this 6+ mos as we are having trouble TTC or not...I will give it more time. We are not even in any rush...I personally am just staring to have that feeling that there is something wrong with me with no AFs and no ovulation. Thanks for your comments...appreciate it.
