Newborn Acne?
Hi!
First, I can't tell you how much all of you and these boards have helped me get through the first two weeks with my DD, Savannah. Thanks!
DD is 2.5 weeks and now is starting to develop little pimples on her cheeks, nose and eyelids... most are just little red dots, with some small whiteheads... when she cries, I see them more. Is this normal? When does it go away? And should we be doing anything to treat it? Thanks!

Re: Newborn Acne?
Congrats on DD!
Pimples are totally normal. It's all of your hormones flushing out of her system. My ped said to leave them or I could put Aquaphor on them. There really is not much you can do, it will go away

Re: Newborn Acne?
Yes, assuming you are nursing DD. congrats on her birth. My DD had baby acne for a while while I was nursing her. It's all your hormones going into her.

Re: Newborn Acne?
Yes my DD had acne too (I was nursing); unfortunately it lasted for about 6 weeks.

both my kids had it for at least 2 months (BF) don't touch them - just keep the face clean - or like PP said - aquaphor

Re: Newborn Acne?
DS had it on his nose- Dr said it is totally normal after birth the pores need to open up and to leave it alone-all went away by themselves. Congratulations!
