Newborn and spitting up

Hello!

My son is 4 weeks old and he projectile vomits every other day, sometimes everyday.

Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this with their DC?

TIA

Re: Newborn and spitting up

if its projectile thats not normal I would let the doctor know he probably has a problem digesting his milk.

He may need to switch formulas. Definitley mention it to the dr.
My DS spits up a lot and the dr. always says "As long as its NOT projectile, it's fine". Maybe they can put your DC on soy or something similar.Chat Icon

We were just at the dr on wednesday, DD is 6 weeks tomorrow, she tends to spit up a lot, but not projectile and he said its ok.
Is he eating too much maybe?

Thank you for your responses.

I think my son does eat too much which leads to him spitting up. It is usually after he finishes 4 ozs.

If it's projectile, I'm going to say it may be a milk protein sensitivity. That was one of the signs of my daughters milk allergy. You can try switching formulas. Does he arch his back during feedings and seem uncomfortable when he spits up? That would sound more like reflux.
