Newborn photo shoot question POLL

When the baby is a newborn.....would you bring the baby to a photo studio a week after you come home?

I want to do a photo shoot but the photographer will only shoot from the studio....

hells no! It takes a long time and you want to be in the comfort of your own home. There are too many good photographers out there who do travel to book one that makes you go to them with a newborn! Chat Icon

eta: I should add that I took Jack (my first) to a park and Barb so generously took his newborn pictures, so I guess I would LOL.

But, now knowing what I know about professional photographers, I would prefer someone to come to the house. Lori spent HOURS here with Tyler.

I would go only if I LOVED the photographer...but I'm pretty lax about that stuff

Do what YOU feel comfortable with...there are lots of photogs who come to your house

It was very nice being in the comfort of my own home for the newborn shoot. If there weren't other options then I may have gone to a studio, but there are so many photographers that will come to you.

Re: Newborn photo shoot question POLL

I would not bring my child to one of the larger commercial studios and I would probably not want to go to a photographer's studio. However, my son was a NICU baby and our doctor warned us. I have no real way of knowing how I would have felt with different circumstances. The way that our doctor described the "germs" in the studios really had me thinking against it. Barbara took photos at my house when my son was almost 5 weeks old. By then he had developed some cradle cap but I was fine with it. She showed me that by printing them in black and white the cradle cap did not show a lot. It really only showed in the photos where there was a lot of the top of his head showing. The photos were done right around his due date anyway and I view those as our professional newborn photos.

I would go to an in home photo studio, because I would have confidence that the photographer would have personal interest in keeping the environment germ free...Especially if I loved the photographers work....

I would however probably avoid a portrait sudio that was at a public establishment Chat Icon

If it were a home studio - absolutely.

If you're talking about Kiddie Kandids or a place with major traffic - no.

I've seen how the photographers on this board take care of their in home studios. Some are set with newborn diapers, antibacterial soap, etc. It's all very clean.
