newborn stuffy nose

so i've noticed right away that ds has a little snort to him.... but in the past week or so its been sounding more like a stuffy nose.... except, he can breath just fine while hes sleeping & eating

i've been doing salene drops & trying to suck out snot -- but there is never any snot in his nose

so what gives? is this just another newborn thing or should i take him to the doctor?

My daughter was/is the same way. She has been congested since birth. I read that it can be beacuase there may still be fluid from birth in there.
Now she is sick for real...has an ear infection and sound congested/coughing...but I do not think it is realtated to the intial congestion. I think it is from DAY CARE lol

congestion and stuffy "sounding" is normal for newborns

their nasal passages are very little so that can make some odd noises

if he is breathing ok and nothing is coming out, i would think its normal newborn congestion.

Stuffiness is totally normal. Albert was the same way.

Can't believe he's going to be a month already!

when I asked my doctor, he said this was normal because of their small nasal passages.
if it's really bad, try using one of the baby q-tips to get some of the build-up out from the sides. It usually helps a bit but the noisy breathing never fully went away

DS was a very heavy breather for a long time. It always sounded like he was congested, but he was fine. It's normal.
