Re: Newcomer...

Thanks for asking Chat Icon

I feel better - I htink the news hit me hard, I was shocked and I had to go to this big meeting so I had no time for a cry.

Anyway, if I only 2- 3 follies they may offer me the opportunity to cancel. Per the nurse its not unusual to cancel with a low number of follies ( I htink Pauline - Rose 825 was cancelled). I'd rather cancel with my history of empty follies than proceed and waste the IVF

I also spoke to a friend who didn't start responding immedialtely and then did...maybe I will too. I'm having a few twinges in my ovary area, so who knows

We started talking about adopting last night - IMO we can have a family if we want, just not a biological one and I'm OK with that - DH is starting to think about it. I don;t want to wait 2 years to start the process. If we're doing it, I want to start soon --- I just don't know where to start.

Did you want the long answer???

Re: Newcomer...

Im so sorry. This has to be so hard! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think each time we respond differently, at least different people.

On my IUI cycles, the first time was so -so, On injections, I got 2 follies, next month...BOOM 15 to begin with, then 8, and 4 good ones at the end. Third...forget it, Highest dose of med's I could take, 15 days of meds and only one so so follie.

So It seems like maybe our body is telling us " now is not an optimal time"...and Im thinking maybe thats your case and then when its right, it will get you lots of follies and that BFP.

Did you decide if you are gonna cancel the cycle for sure?

Re: Newcomer...

I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

You -- along with everyone else - "deserve" your BFP. Hopefully it will be with this IVF.

After all the meds and everything, is it really worth it to cancel even if you only have 2 follies?? Other than affecting their statistics, why would that be a better choice for you, after you have come so far already? Maybe one of those 2 will be your BFP...

Re: Newcomer...

I hear ya Kara, but last time I had 7 follies and only 2 eggs, with those stats, I'd rather try IUI, and save the IVF for a higher number of follies

I'll know more tomorrow at 7.30 am
