Newport Review
We are back from our 1st anniversary trip to Newport! We had such a great time. I have a mini review below.
We stayed at the Francis Malbone B&B; which was so wonderful! You couldn’t ask for anything more! We left on Saturday morning and it took us 3 hours to drive there. When we got the B&B our room wasn’t ready so we walked around town for awhile, went down to the Seafood Festival and had some lunch. By the time we got back, our room was ready but we decided to head out to the Newport Winery, which was about a 10 min drive from town. We got there around 2:30 and did some yummy tastings and then went on the 3:00 winery tour, which was very nice. Afterwards we drove to the Topiary Garden but they closed at 4 and we got there around 4:15 so we headed back to the B&B, had some of the yummy afternoon tea goodies and relaxed before dinner. We wanted to go to the Brick Alley Pub but the wait was 1 ½ hours so we walked around and decided on the Red Parrot; and it was a good choice! Dinner was very good and we stopped at Cold Fusion for some gelato for dessert.
The next day, after a delicious breakfast we headed over to the topiary gardens and then to the Elms, the Breakers, Rosecliff and Marble House and back to the B&B around 4:30 to relax for a bit, had a little snack and then walked around town, in and out of the shops.

We then got ready for dinner at The Mooring, which was delicious!! They knew it was our anniversary so they gave us both a glass of red champagne, yum! After dinner we just went back to the room and crashed.
After breakfast the next morning we decided to take the Orient Point Ferry home so we headed over to New London, CT and made the 12:00 Ferry which got us into Orient Pt by 1:30 and from there we went to Pindar winery and did a little tasting and some purchasing and then stopped at Briermere Farms and picked up an apple and pumpkin pie and then we headed back home. We had a great time!

Sounds like you had a great time.
I was also there this past weekend
and went to the same mansions.
I can't wait to go back!

i went to newport last spring for 3 days it was so beautiful. I really enjoyed the architecture and the mansion tours.
