Emerils or Nolas or the Commanders Palace are all good places.

AUGUST

We were there on our HM- the chef made me a special 7 course vegetarian tasting menu.. DH got the regular one. It was amazing-- the service, IMPECCABLE.

The chef came out and sat with us and talked for a bit-- we wanted to have a smoke during dinner, the hostess went out and BOUGHT us a pack of cigarettes.

The chef was nominated for a James Beard award last year-- amazing.

It is located right behind the Windsor Court hotel, which is where we stayed-- and if you are staying at the W-- it's just next door.

Honestly- best restaurant experience we ever had-- and we like to spend $$$ on nice dinners. TRUST ME!

I like NOLA the BEST for a special dinner.

Commander's is great for Sunday Jazz Brunch.

Acme Oyster House is amazing too -- not fancy but oh so good!

Re: Nice dinner in New Orleans?

My husband and I ate at Emeril's and had an amazing night. We sat at the food bar which is right in front of the kitchen and watched all the chefs cooking, etc. It doesn't sound like a big deal but it truly was incredible. They were giving us samples and everything - it was just so much fun. I think those seats are hard to come by so you should definitely call - we never would have thought to sit there but when we walked in they said they had a cancelation and asked us if we wanted to sit there. We can't wait to go back again!

You also have to go to Cafe Du Monde for coffee and beniets!

Emeril's
