Night feeding question

Ava had her last bottle at 7:30. Usually I wait till 10:30ish and feed her (wake her up most times) and then put her to bed and she wakes up again at like 3:30 am and eats and goes back to bed...now she's still up but about to fall asleep. Should I put her to bed and hope she sleeps till the same time or wait and not ruin the schedule? Is that too long of a time in-between feedings if she last eats at 7:30 and wakes up 3ish (wishful thinking)? She is 8 weeks. Thanks!

If I follow correctly, you want to make sure she's not hungry - is that what you mean by too much time in between feedings? My ped said that once they reach their birth weight (b/c they've most likely left the hospital weighing less) then you don't have to wake them in the middle of the night for a feeding.

Re: Night feeding question

What are the chances of her still sleeping till 3:30am? Slim to none I'm guessing since she usually wakes up starving at that time after eating at 10! BTW - your girls are beautiful!

Re: Night feeding question

My DD is also 8wks and it seems that the time frame between her last bottle and the next are always a little different each night. Most nights she'll have her last bottle at around 930p and she's sleeping by 10ish...some nights she won't wake up until 530a for another feeding! Then, the other night she woke up at 130a Chat Icon

I can't figure it out!

Good luck! Let us know how it works out.

OMG she slept until 5 am! I could not believe it! She woke up around 11:30 and I gave her her paci and she went right back to sleep. Then she had a bottle at 5 and went back down again! Chat Icon Chat Icon
