I didn't know this either!! I've seen her IG posts but I thought this was the last season of VD.
Nikki looks stunning, I think they are perfect together.

i think it's her fans.
she breaks up with Ian, goes on to date dozens of guys, and everyone cheers.
He gets together with Nikki, and everyone gets on his case : how dare he do this to nina, he's so insensitive, she's the best thing that ever happened to him, etc. etc.
it just kind of made me dislike her.
she's also the only cast member i hardly see promoting the show or telling the fans how grateful she is. everyone else does their interviews, always thanks the fans, sounds really grateful. even if it is all for publicity, at least they try.
as to TVD, her storyline has gotten so boring. it's always the same and always me me me. I am about 3 episodes behind, but would prefer the show without her.

I don't even watch the show anymore because it got so bad. I'm glad Nina is leaving it- hopefully she realized it's a dud now.

I think she was upset bc he dated her friend, not just a random woman. Oh well

I haven't watched TVD in a couple seasons (I am ashamed to admit I ever watched it in the first place  ). But I think Nina made that show. I can't imagine how they will continue without her.
