Nine Year Old Boy Shot - In Bellport.
I just saw this on Channel 7 Eyewitness News... How sad. They say he was just sitting at his kitchen table doing nothing. 
The family rushed him to Brookhaven Hospital where he was airlifted to Stony Brook.
Why does ish like this happen to innocent children???

I just heard the same thing - they are saying the shots were shot from outside the house

yeah, it sounds like they might have been stray bullets.
While I agree with the above poster who said we need to get guns out of peoples hands, I don't think it's the responsible gun owner who had a hand in this.
My suspicion is that the people who shouldn't have them, will some how always wind up getting their hands on guns.

while this is a horrible story, I do not agree with this comment. Many people are responsible gun owners and should not be penalized for the others who are not

Terribly sad. And sadly in that area Im not shocked. I worked in N Bellport for many years and it is a interesting town to say the least.

I hear ya, but that's the thing... I don't think there will ever be a time when those people will ever not be able to get a gun.
Where this a will, there's a way. It's unfortuntate, but it's the way of the world.
