NJ property tax break question
i was half-asleep this morning when i heard on tv something about the governor signing it into law.
was i dreaming?
i don't have access to "news" from work, so i can't even google it.
does anyone know what happened and how soon does it take affect?

Re: NJ property tax break question
best way to get info - contact your local town assessor's office and they'd be able to tell you.

Keep in mind that tax deductions are usually made for the NEXT fiscal year, so if it's like STAR in NY, we won't see reductions until 2008.

I heard it on the radio yesterday, unfortunately DH and I fall into the 5% that this does not apply to but it was my understanding this was effective immediately.

that bugs me! it should be based on the value of the property, not on how much you make!!! i understand the added break for seniors, but other than that, we should all benefit... we all live in this god-forsaken state!!
