No children party
We are planning a party at our house in a few weeks and I don't want children there, for a few reasons, that aren't really relevant
The party is 7 pm on a Saturday night
Is it crazy for me to expect people to get sitters if they want to come?

No Absolutely not! I wouldn't mind at all, even though my DD and #2 coming are/will are the loves of my lives, Dh and I need adult time!

Nope! I would have no problem with being told to leave them home.

Re: No children party
Nope, as long as you didn't get upset if they weren't able to get a sitter. Like my mom or my brother usually babysit, so if they both were unavailable we'd be hard pressed to find another sitter since we don't know anyone with teens.

Agreed. As long as you are understanding if a person can't come b/c of sitter issues.

No, not at all. I've had a few gatherings that were children excluded. They weren't the appropriate setting for children (even some adults ). Of course my SIL would always throw a hissy and NOT COME because she feels her children should be invited everywhere Uhhh yes, there will be drinking, smoking and wild times going on and you want your KIDS there?!?

Re: No children party
I dont think its ridiculous - a houseful of kids certainly changes the atmosphere - even a couple small kids changes the tone. I'd love to go to a non-kid party

Re: No children party
I think it is fine. If you were having something in the middle of the day then it might be odd, but at 7 pm, kids should stay home.

Re: No children party
No. This isn't bad at all. Just (1) make it clear that it is adults only and (2) understand if someone can't make it for babysitting reasons.

Re: No children party
No not at all. 7:00 is my daughters bed time and I would love a night out without her i mean I love her and all, but it is nice to get out without kids so people should understand or stay home.
