No Hospital Copay?
Did anyone not have a hospital copay? I told my mom that I don't think I do, and she said that is almost unheard of. Just wondering if I should check into this again, or if there are other like me

Re: No Hospital Copay?
I don't have one. But if I had switched to DH's insurance we would have had a $1,000 per patient deductible (so $2,000 for me and the baby).

Re: No Hospital Copay?
I have to look into this- I have been admitted to the hospital three times since 2000 with asthma related problems, and I never had a copay for those stays. Not sure about childbirth.

Re: No Hospital Copay?
I actually just called yesterday to check, and we have a $250 deductible for delivery hospital stays So that was kind of annoying to find out!! For Dr visits I think its $20 or so, I forget - I haven't paid since the first one
we have UHC 'Choice' or something like that...

Re: No Hospital Copay?
I have Oxford and I *believe* the normal hospital copay is $50. I have to look into if it is different for childbirth.
I would be surprised if it was only $50, my freaking pills (before I went off them) were $50!

Re: No Hospital Copay?
I also have oxford and I believe the $50 copay is only if you are admitted through emergency.

Re: No Hospital Copay?
With MDNY (which I have now) its a $500 copay.
We are switching to Blue Cross and with the plan we are getting there is $0 copay.

Re: No Hospital Copay?
Sorry, just a lurker. But, with my insurance (Horizon) we have a $500 deductible, but DH's insurance (United Healthcare) I believe there is no deductible. We are switching to his in January when open enrollment is offered, but keeping mine so we won't have too many bills once we are ready to TTC.
