No quite sure if this is fashion or health

but has anyone ever hurt their feet by wearing flipflops?

I went out all day Saturday and wore my nice flipflops with a little wedge. By the end of the day I had this shooting pain on the outside bottom part of my foot - I thought I pulled a muscle or something.

It was still hurting so bad yesterday so I went to a podiatrist. He said my tendon was inflammed and bruised. I don't know how it got bruised - I didn't step out of them or bang my foot or anything.

So now he taped my foot up and put me on anti-inflammatories. If it doesn't get any better by next week he said I may need a cortisone shot.

All this to look cute.

I've gotten pains in the arches of my feet from wearing flip flops. It feels like a charly horse, but in my foot. It hurt like heck.

At least you were smart enough to go to a podiatrist. I only took aspirin and suffered with the pain.

But yes, I've suffered for fashion many times.....

Flip flops offer absolutely no support to the foot and ankle. I've heard podiatrists go crazy over the summer.

The way I look at it is: Think about the difference between flip flops and sneakers you work-out in. WAAAY different. If you're walking around a lot at a festival or other summer event, it's like a light work-out!

I seriously think I have a stress fracture in my right foot from flip -flops. They have taken their toll on me big time.

flip flops are awful for your feet...I have a problem with my right foot and was told to never wear flip flops again...when i was in grade 9....i didnt listen...i have sore feet all the time!!
