No way did I hear these words tonight
So, Cailen usually has me carry him upstairs to bed. Tonight, he wanted to walk up the stairs with me holding his hand and holding the railing...
I said "Oh my goodness - what is happening to my little baby???"
To which he answered:
"I'm not your baby anymore, Mommy. I'm a little boy!"
He said this verbatim. He said it so sweetly, and so lovingly. But wow - hearing it was so beautiful, yet so bittersweet.
Because he is right
This child is such an old soul. And my best little friend in the whole wide world.

sometimes we really hope #2 is a boy so we have someone to call baby boy again!
Josh is very stern with us. I am not a baby, I am Josh. we are reminded all day long.
