Non-potty trained toddler waking up dry?
DS turned 2 on Saturday ( ) and for the past week or so, when I wake him up in the morning, his diaper is totally dry - like bone dry. He used to have 10 pounds of pee in there, but now there's nothing. The other morning he must have let it all go at daycare because he completely soaked through his shorts and t-shirt that was touching his shorts.
Is this normal for this age? We have a well-visit on Friday, I'll ask his ped as well.
Thanks!

Potty training is def. going to be easier! DS was waking up dry for a LONG time b/f I started potty training him - can't remember when though...DD is 19 mos and wakes up dry now. Can't remember when she started.

Waking up dry is good. It shows you the mind-plumbing connections work, i.e. the physiological aspects of toilet training are complete. The psychological aspect of getting the kid to potty is the challenge.
We are in the throws of it now. Be prepared for drama, bribery, wet carpet, etc, etc.

I might run into you! DD's well visit is the same afternoon. She won't pee in the potty but loves to run around in undies like her big brother

Re: Non-potty trained toddler waking up dry?
My DS did this starting at 2 as well.
We tried to PT at 2.5yo and it wasnt successful, Tried just short of 3yo and he was PT in 1 day. It makes it easy to start PT though simply because if they wake up dry you know its not tooo long before they are going to have to pee.

Def start potty training. Don't waste this opportunity!!! My dr said when they are dry at night, they know how to hold it, and should def. start potty training. Both of my boys were potty trained by the time they were 2 because of this reason.
Good luck...its scary, but just go with it.
