Non-Toxic Ant Removal?

Okay, I read that vinegar and water will help remove ants, but I've been spreading both around an area where they congregate for several days, and they are still there. I also read to seal cracks in the floor, but there really are so many, I think they would just find another spot. Which is exactly what happened when DH sealed a few.

Did anyone have success with this or another method? If you used vinegar, how often did you put it down? We have a baby who spends a lot of time in this room, so I really don't want to use sprays or traps.

TIA!

Re: Non-Toxic Ant Removal?

I heard equal parts listerine and water. I also heard to throw some tabassco sauce into the water and soap you are washing the kitchen floor with. HTH I would go crazy like I did last year and used ant traps, and bug spray I was gong to use bug bombs but got rid of them. i do not like bugs and will not live with them , EVER yuck...Chat Icon

Thanks, I guess I'll test some listerine. This is actually in our living room and we have wood floors, so I want to make sure that won't ruin the finish. I know vinegar was safe that way, but it's not doing much good.

I'd really rather have the ants then use a bug bomb right now. We have a 4 month old, and he's in this part of the house a lot. I just don't trust that stuff around a baby. Thanks though!

We use Terro Traps. They swarm for a few days & then the nest gets wiped out.
