non-ttcer has a question....
i was reading some threads on here & one thread was talking about O-ing after going off BCP & how your body many not O at all!? so if you end up not O-ing after going off BCP, does that mean that you cant get preggo?!?
i'm just wondering b/c i went off BCP about 6 months ago (we are still using other forms of protection b/c we arent ready to TTC yet) and my biggest fear is that b/c i was on the pill for a long time i may not be able to have children

you do not have to worry about that!!!!!!
you may not necessarily O right away - but you SHOULD O. Unless there is something else going on.
My doctor and i had this conversation on Monday actually! She said that it's a common misconception that birth control pills cause non-ovulation. She said that the only one that is kinda an issue is Depo Vera - but most others are actually good to be on. She said that with a lot of fertility treatments, you are PUT ON the birth control pill & then taken off of it to try and FORCE your body to ovulate...
I for one, was on birth control pills for 12 and a half years (i finally did the math) and ovulated within one month of going off of the pill.
