North Bellmore
Hi,
My fiancee and I are moving to North Bellmore next month, and we will both be commuting to Manhattan via the LIRR.
Can anyone give me info on the parking situation at the Bellmore train station? I am particularly worried about my fiancee because he has a flexible schedule and sometimes doesn't leave for work until 10am.
TIA!!!

I lived in N. Bellmore for a bout a year. Unfortantly I don't know to much about the train parking but there are very close stations if he cant find something (wantagh Merrick)

Re: North Bellmore
At 10am there is not really alot of parking. And if there is it is really far away. The lots are usually packed by the 8am trains.

Re: North Bellmore
I know my cousin parks at some hall right next to the train station and pays a monthly fee. This way she always gets a spot and doesn't have to worry about a long walk.
Do you want me to ask her for info?? She has been doing this forever so I don't know if there is even any space available anymore...

Bellmore has a lot of parking lots. But it probably will be tight at 10am. I don't know about Merrick, but you need to be a resident to get a parking permit for Wantagh. And you will get ticketed, I've gotten a few when I was running late and couldn't find a spot at Bellmore. Seaford just redid their parking lots and the ones on Sunrise Highway are huge.

Re: North Bellmore
Thanks for all of the info!
karacg: I will keep that in mind and let you know if it is something he would consider. Thanks so much!
I am so spoiled... I currently pay $50 per year to park at the Mineola station, and there are always spots. I knew I had it easy!
I am kicking myself because when we were looking at houses, there was a homeowner in Merrick who told us about a sidestreet not too far from the Merrick Station that you can park on that a lot of people don't know about... Of course, I wrote it down and lost the paper.
Oh well.
Thanks everyone!

Re: North Bellmore
There are smaller lots that open at 8am but I think they fill pretty easily - I think - I never go in that late and I don't drive. At 10 am maybe new spots in the regular lots open up from people coming home from nightshifts??? I know sometimes if DH has gone in late for some reason he has gotten a good spot in the regular lot or the late lots. I heard some people pay the nearby business for a spot. Cafe Symposio is the one I heard - but not sure how it works - you may have to be out by a certain time.
