Re: North Face sizing/warmth?
I have a Khumba fleece and a shell with fleece inside. The shell with fleece inside is VERY warm, but the Khumba fleece isn't too much warmer than cheaper fleeces.
I find the sizes to be a little on the small side, but they are meant to be relatively cut slim (the recent ones at least...the older version Denalis are cut larger. For me, I couldn't fit a sweater under the appropriate size fleece, but it's a nice cut. The sleeves are a little long for me, but I am short.

Re: North Face sizing/warmth?
They are the warmest coats I have ever owned. I think they run true to size.
I live upstate and it snows a LOT. I love bundling up in my North Face. I am sad I won't be able to wear it this winter (it won't zip over my pregnant belly).
Definitely one of those things I feel is worth the price.

Re: North Face sizing/warmth?
I think their site tells you the warmth level of the fleeces. I have a Denali, which is very warm and a good fit, but I tried on other fleeces that were not as heavy. What style were you looking at? The Denali is warm, but it's not my warmest coat. It's good for early winter, but for snowy weather I switch to something heavier.

The one I was looking at was more of a regular coat..called Insulated Grace...I liked it because it looks like a regular coat and it was long..two of my criteria...anyone know anything about it?

I don't have that particular one, I have two of their puffier styles in long and short lengths.
It got good reviews by 2 people on Macy's.

Re: North Face sizing/warmth?
NF's are really warm and from my experience have ran true to size. I like that in their new line they have some new designs that are more business appropriate. When it gets freezing I dont care how stoopid I may look at work, the North face comes out.
