north port resturants
Are there any good restaurants in North port. We are taking our 3 year old to see a play at the north port theatre and are looking for a family friendly restaurant to eat lunch at.

Yeah there are a bunch! Right on Main Street I would suggest: Main Street Cafe, The Northport Sweet Shop, Skippers, Ships Inn, Tim's Shipwreck Diner, and Nina's. Off Main Street, on 25A I'd suggest Sweet Mama's (my nephews LOVE this place), Macadoo's/Batata Cafe, or Whale's Tale. I've been to all these places so I'm not recommending blindly.

Not in walking distance but you could go to sweet mamas. It's like a 50s diner and down the road but def a drive.
There's also an Italian restaurant directly across the street from the theatre.

I think you're confused, Sweet Mama's isn't a dive at all!
The only dive in town IMO is Gunther's but hell Kerouac did hang out here when he lived in NPT in the early '60s!

Prob 5 minutes. Maybe 10. It's a very short drive and the theatre offers free valet parking, at least they do for the night shows. So that helps eliminate the time to find a parking spot.

Re: north port resturants
For a 3yr old I would suggest either Skippers (near the harbor and main parking lot) or Nina's Pizza (a little further east of town). The other restaurants mentioned are good but they are small and often get crowded. There is also Feed & Grain (in the heart of town) but I think their food is mediocre.

Oh sweet Jesus' nipples you did say drive and not dive!!!
ETA: To the OP you won't be disappointed with Sweet Mama's, ti's a great place and it's no more than a couple minutes drive from the thearter down in town.

This! The only dive is Gunther's bar! Though I have had some fun nights at Club G! Sweet Mama's is great 50's style restaurant.

Oh too funny! I just went off of Honey Badgers comment, and assumed you said dive too! So sorry! I really couldn't figure out while you would call Sweet Mama's a dive, but that's because you didn't
