Norwegian or Carnival?

We are currently booked on both for NovChat Icon

We sailed Carnival in May and loved it but was just given a way better deal on NCL.

The itineraries are basically the same but one leaves out of Miami and the other Ft.Lauderdale. Not sure how much of a difference that is with the airfare.

But which cruiseline is better?

DH's cousin said she got bed bugs from NCL but who knows.

Re: Norwegian or Carnival?

Ive done both and I prefer Norwegian. I liked not having to eat with strangers, the ship seemed alot cleaner, the clientel seemed a bit classier, the food was better, the service was better and it just overall felt "nicer".

I wasn't impressed with my Carnival cruise, so it didn't take alot for Norwegian to impress me Chat Icon

Re: Norwegian or Carnival?

I think you will get very mixed reviews on this one. I have cruised with both and would probably just choose which ever has the better deal because they both have good/bad points. We sailed on an older, smaller NCL ship out of NY, so as far as the ships go, we WAY preferred Carnival. On the flip side, we loved all of the dining options on NCL and preffered that to group seating on Carnival. I travelled with both before having DS, so you may want to Xpost this on Parenting to see if people have had ecxperience cruising with their kids and see from that point.

I would definitely go with Norwegian if you're going alone. The dining option alone sounds so nice especially for a couple. If the ships are comparable age/size/amenities, I would go on Norwegian.
