Yuck - reminds me when my MIL tried to find out how much I paid for my wedding dress.
I hope you don't answer them....I used things like:
"it was priceless"
"pretty expensive but I'm worth it"
"Just enough to get it"
Some people just didn't get the hint. 
For wedding planning, start thinking of vague answers so you have them ready!

she doesn't ask me directly, but if i'm speaking to a co-worker about something she'll ask her what we were discussing. drives me nuts.
