Not a good first week on WW!!(update can you check out my menu)
I tracked my points and maybe used 1 or 2 extra points per day..never more than that and some days stuck strictly to my points.
Lost NOTHING..NADA I do feel like im deprived some days which worries me that Im doing something wrong and I wont be able to "last' this way. KWIM?
I got frustrated yesterday b/c my lunch plans cancelled and I had to quickly figure out something to eat..EVERYTHING seems like way too many points.. but luckily I made Talapia last night so my dinner was little points.. but I feel like...uggg it's really difficult to stick to this and I feel like the points are just not working.. or im just making the wrong choices..
IDK.. thanks for listening I know Im rambling.

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!
Linda - are you working out at all also? I personally found that I got the most results with WW when I mixed it with exercise.
Don't get discouraged. You didn't gain anything right?

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!
It's also entirely possible that this week was just a fluke. There are plenty of people that don't lose anything their first week, or even gain, and go on to lose plenty in the long run. Stick with it, review your choices, and make sure your measurements are accurate. It'll be worth it.

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!
Unfortuantly weight loss is not an exact science. You can have the best week in the world and still gain (for any number of reasons- it could be water retention). I've found if I had a really good week and still gained or didn't lose, I saw my weight loss in the next week. The body can be very strange and might not pick up on your new healthy choices right away. Just keep making those healthy choices and stick to the plan. Not every week will be a weight loss week.
I know its very discouraging not to lose any weight your first week on plan, but keep at it and you will see results eventually.

Keep on tracking and stick with it. The weight will come off next week. Fruits and Veggies are free, so, thats what I eat to help "fill me up". Drink your water too.
The plan does work. Don't give up, just give it time.

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!
thanks ladies.. Di-didn't work out this week. I have to get used to getting up at 5:00am again to get on the treadmill. I def will start b/c sometimes I do miss it.
But shouldn't i loose withOUT having to work out..
I know it's my first week. I did notice that I counted the progesso soups wrong... an entire can is 2 servings not one.. BUT.. that still keeps me within my points range with the few extra 49 points..
I hate that I feel deprived though.. I have to see others' menu for the day I think to get some ideas of what to eat!!
thanks for the support ladies!!

Yes, you can absolutely lose weight without working out. I lost 30 of my 46 pounds without moving a muscle. But of course working out helps move it along.
You shouldn't be feeling deprived. Make sure you allow yourself treats here and there, while still getting in your good health guidelines and eating up your daily points plus target.

Can I share what I usually eat during the week???
BF: 1 cup rains bran with a banana with skim milk. One large cup of coffee with splash of skim milk.
snack: apple/banana or almonds
Lunch at work: 1 can of the light progresso soup. two peices of american cheese on ww multigrain bread and mustard and lettuce.
Dinner: I usually make a good dinner that leaves me about 3 pts. (if im calculating it right). Last night was one piece of baked talapia with a spinkle of parm cheese and lemon with brocolli and half backed potato with a dash of fat free sour cream.
snack: usually a ww snack...ice cream bar or popcorn using the new pp not what's on the package.

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!(update can you check out my menu)
Are you having a soup every day for lunch? If so you might have too much sodium in your diet which will totally throw off a weight loss.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Same here.
Lunch would be a good time to get some more protein in. Maybe a turkey burger or a veggie burger? A chicken salad or a grilled chicken wrap?
Other than that- your menu looks good.

Re: Not a good first week on WW!!(update can you check out my menu)
definately try to avoid the canned soups. The sodium is high. Some weeks I make a small pot of soup in the crockpot to use durring the week. Salt can definately throw the scales off. So if you've eaten out a day or two before weigh in(especially chinese food) try and drink extra water to compensate.
Also I keep a bag of the precooked shrimp in my freezer, low points...
for high protein try Chobani yogurt is a good option. You can get the plain fat free one and mix with fresh fruits, or if you prefer they have a preflavored one in 4 oz cup size.
for the cheeses is there a lower calorie cheese you might like? Like a weight watchers one or laughing cow.
To add in extra veggies and fruit I finally caved in buying some precut, to shorten prep time after a long work day.
most importantly though you can't feel deprived. The plan has to work for you because its a way of life, for the long term.
