Not Home Related - Closing/Moving Dates

Our friends are closing on their house this Thursday....we're supposed to help them move on Thursday, but I don't want to take the date off from work if they cannot move on the same day they're closing....

Is it possible to close on a house and move in that day?

Are they closing in the morning or in the afternoon? It takes like an hour and a half so if they are closing in the afternoon, it might be worth it to take a half day/leave early if you are trying to conserve days off.

ETA: Yes, you can move in the same day.

You can, but make sure they're certain the sellers are staying after closing. (Most people have a cushion worked into their contract.) They should know for sure before closing what the seller's plan is (and definitely know at the walk-through). Hopefully the walk-through is the day before so they'll be certain they are closing and can move with no issues the next day. Chat Icon

Unless they close early in the AM or unless you work far away, you can probably just take a half day like someone else mentioned.
