Not off to a good start -- Update -- looking better
The baseline sono showed a large cyst on my left ovary (which is my "good" one. I only have 1/4 of the right one). So for now, it looks like things are on hold.
UPDATE -- I went back for a follow up sono and blood work. The cyst is still there, but it looked like it's collapsing. Based on my bloodwork, the doctor thinks it will be gone by Monday, so I'm back on schedule. Thanks for all the positive vibes and well wishes!

Re: Not off to a good start
Sorry you are dealing with a cyst I had one as well when I was about to start my very first IVF cycle. Just a slight glitch things will work out.

Not off to a good start
Thanks. I was very surprised by this since I've already been on bcp for a few months to prepare for this cycle. I'm waiting to hear back from the dr about what they want to do. The nurse said sometimes they'll wait a week to see if it goes away and other times they'll aspirate it. I see an RE in NC, so this really throws off my timing with work, etc.
Just once I'd like to know what it feels like to go to the dr and get good news.

This happened not too long ago to a friend of mine -- they monitored her and the cyst disappeared on its own in about 8 days! Hoping this is what happens in your case

I'm sorry. This sucks. I hope this cyst goes away fast so you can get started.

Not off to a good start
Thanks, everyone. Just heard from the nurse. They want me to stop bcp and start the androgen patch. I also have to do a shot if ganirelix to try to bring my estrogen down. I'll go back on Friday to see what's going on.

Okay, glad to hear that you have a plan on how to move forward! Don't know if you've ever used Ganirelix before but its a super easy subcutaneous shot -- very thin needle and the liquid doesn't burn or anything!

Well, at least that's some good news. I wasn't on ganirelix last time.

Aw I hate when the plan isn't the plan anymore. My thoughts are with you.
