Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I can't seem to get them over my hips and butt anymore Is this normal for 16 weeks? I thought my hips and butt were big enough pre-pregnancy. I can't believe they are getting bigger
I went through 4 pairs of pants this morning before I found a pair I can get away with for work today. Guess I am on my way to the store after work for some new clothes. I am thinking of just going up a size or so in regular pants. I think maternity pants are going to be too big. I hate this in-between stage.

I feel your pain I am sitting here in a suit of all things. My pants have a zipper, an inside button and 2 latches... I'm down to the zipper and 1 latch. We can go shopping together

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I am using the tummy sleeve which helps me keep my pants unbuttoned at least. Its the tighness around the hips that is killing me. I wish we could go shopping together so we could support each other but I am in NC. We will have to fill each other in on how we made out.

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I've been in maternity clothes since 14 weeks. And it's not that I'm big - I could probably have gone up a size or two in regular clothes - but they just weren't comfortable. I kept pulling on them and adjusting.
Maternity clothes have been a dream. Shirts that were HUGE when I bought them seem to fit just right now, and they still have room to grow into them. You're only going to keep growing, you might as well be comfortable.

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I started wearing maternity clothes last week in my 14th week. My clothes were still fitting but too snug. I am much more comfortable in maternity clothes. I think it is very normal

Just bite the bullet and get the maternity pants. I was trying to avoid the inevitable as well and I so regret it. I am so much more comfortable since I started wearing maternity pants. I only wish I had started earlier.

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
Well I am going to head to Kohls after work and see what happens. Maybe I will try the maternity stuff to see how it fits as well. I would love to be comfortable at this stage. I just thought it was a little early to be needing maternity clothes. I guess I am in denial.

I've been in Maternity clothes since 14 weeks too. I love them! They are so comfortable and fit fine. Many of them are adjustable.

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I'm right there with you. I broke down and bought a pair of maternity pants from Old Navy. On sale, so I was glad I went when I did.
I refuse to buy stuff until the fall, so I've been using the bella band with my pants open. It really works, but I'm a big girl and it isn't as comfortable as I'd hoped it would be.

I am using the tummy sleeve as well but it is uncomfortable around my hips and butt. Do they have a sleeve for that???

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
Yup, I got my first pair of pants around 10 weeks, and a few more not long after that. I figured I could still wear them this fall while I'm pregnant, so it wasn't a waste of $$$. It was the best thing in the world--I looked and felt much better in clothes that fit.
Now at 25 wks., I'm finding my non-maternity tops are beginning to get too small. I will need to buy some of those soon, though I'm hoping it can wait till Fall.

Once you started wearing maternity pants, was that the giveaway that you were pregnant? Can you still wear maternity pants and not giveaway that you are pregnant?

Re: Not only are my pants not fitting around my belly
I wore my pants with the bella band up until 18-20 weeks...then there was no way out but to wear maternity pants...don't be too hard on yourself...get a pair of comfortable pants. I'll tell you, one thing that pregnancy has taught me was that comfort comes 1st! Forget about looking all cute...I'll go back to that after giving birth
