Not Parenting Related - Anyone take "natural" meds for anxiety?
I get anxiety attacks now and then and I'm curious if the homeopathic stuff works.

My ob told me about something called Rescue Remedy. It is supposidly very good to combat anxiety and anxiety atacs. I've been meaning to buy just lazy. I used to take Paxil and haven;t in two years. I have some reeeeaaaalllyyyy hard days and I hate it but again too lazy. You've inspired me so I might go online to buy it tomorrow (too lazy to get my credit card right now).

Try Rescue Remedy. You can find it at natural food stores.

Re: Not Parenting Related - Anyone take "natural" meds for anxiety?
Hi Moms, I have never experienced these attacks myself. But 2 of my friends have them -badly. For one friend, it started with the birth of her daughter 3 years ago.
She takes Lexapro. It works wonders. I would definately speak to my primary care Dr or possibly even a Pshychiatrist for advice and maybe medication.
"Natural" medications are not always approved by the FDA, so I would be careful. They can be contraindicated with certain conditions or other medications. So please, whatever you take, be sure to clear it with an MD first.
Good Luck and feel better soon.

I have suffered from panic attacks for years. I would definitely speak to your dr. about "natural" remedies. Some of them are known to have worse side effects than prescribed medications. IMO I feel more comfortable taking prescription meds than natural remedies b/c they are regulated and researched carefully.
