Not sure if I posted about this before but...WWYD?
So DD has had some swelling around her lips and small hives after eating cheese, some fruit and drinking milk. I mentioned it to the ped. who said not to worry unless it was all over her body. He said it was a contact allergy and should subside (which it does fairly quickly). So she drank her sippy of milk a little while ago and as I was walking her upstairs to put her down for a nap, I go to kiss her face and her top lip is enormous....with what looks like a fluid-filled blister on her lip. Around it are more hives.
I feel as though we should be past this "contact allergy" by now.
She has had a stuffy/runny nose since getting her MMR shot a week ago. But I'm wondering if this instead could be allergy-related?
Has anyone had experience with this? I hate to call the doc again but I feel as though I really should.

Call..at the very least to ease your mind.
When he was younger, Lucas had some contact reactions to certain sharp cheeses (we're Italian...I couldn't not give him romano on his pasta ) but they would go away quickly.
Once in a while he gets it but again it's small and goes away quickly. Purely contact and only with certain cheese.
If what you have described were happening with Lucas I would raise the issue again and again and again until someone takes it seriously to give you a proper answer.

I would call.
While we've had some contact allergy issues, serious hive & swelling issues too, you're better safe than sorry. Is she coughing? Breathing ok?
More than likely he'll want to see her.

I'd call, but it's probably nothing to worry about. They might have you give her benadryl to be on the safe side.
Does it happen everytime she has the same foods, or just sometimes? I recently put cinnamon in DD's outmeal and she broke out in hives on her face. They went away within 30 minutes. We happened to be going for RAST testing that week for her milk allergy before the milk challenge so he through cinnamon on the list of things to test for. Came up negative.
Hope she is ok.

Thanks everyone....I put in a call a little while ago. She is coughing but I have no clue if it's from that or just from this "cold" or from MMR. She is up from her nap now and everything is gone, as I figured it would be. She is eating fine too.

So glad you called. At least the doc can put your mind at ease or walk you through what you have to do if anything

No experience with.. but if your worried i say call the Peds thats what i would do. If its something i think thats needs to be addressed thats enough for me to call.. i dont care what the doctor thinks.
